The Summer Glow

Applying bronzer is a great way to add some colour to your face. But too much bronzer can look muddy and dirty. You want to go for the “natural sun kissed” look. Here’s how to achieve the Summer Glow without being out in the sun.

You want to make sure that you choose a bronzer that is matte with minimal shimmer as possible. A matte bronzer looks more natural as compared to a shimmery one.

Your focus should be on the areas where the sun would normally hit; your temples and into your forehead above the eyebrows, down the sides of your nose, into the hallows of your cheeks [this is the area right below your cheek bones. A good way to find your hallows is to suck in your cheeks, and the line that forms from your ears to the corner of your lips are the hallows] and on your jaw line.

Blend! Blend! Blend! The key to perfect sun kissed skin is to make it look as natural as possible, and in order to achieve this, you must buff the bronzer into your skin. Use a large powder brush or a kabuki brush to completely buff the product into your skin.

You also want to make sure that the bronzer on the side of the temples and the forehead goes into the hairline. This will truly make it look like a natural tan. To fully achieve the summer glow, you want to lightly dust a shimmering powder in the center of your forehead, the tip of your nose, onto your cheekbones and in the center of your chin. These are all the places where the light naturally hits. Applying a shimmering powder will give you the glow you want.
