i dont know how to read arabic, but i have a copy of The Holy Quran Translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali with Transliteration in Roman Script by M.A.H Eliyasee published by Abdul Naeem for Islamic Service...can i start with this? but i really have this intention to learn to read arabic...

no sister, the Qur'an can be read anytime. in fact, surah waqi'ah is to be read after praying Maghrib, it protects us from poverty according to a story of a sahabi

sister, i heard in a lecture that many shuyookh would leave all other acts of worship in Ramadan except for reading the Qur'an because it is the month of the Qur'an. While you are menstruating, you can read Qur'an as much as possible insha'allah

you can read the Qur'an when you are menstruating, only minorities say it's not allowed. you can touch the Qur'an with translation in it
